In Memoriam: Dr. Sheri Ross
Dr. Sheri Ross, a long-time faculty member of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, passed away on August 16, 2024.
Dr. Ross first came to UC Davis in 2006 to pursue a fellowship in renal medicine/hemodialysis at the school’s UC Veterinary Medical Center - San Diego. She continued at UCVMC-SD as a valued member of the Advanced Extracorporeal (Hemodialysis) and Urinary Disease Service until 2022.
Dr. Ross devoted her entire adult life to veterinary medicine and caring for animals. She was a highly regarded leader in renal medicine and shared her knowledge at veterinary conferences around the world. Dr. Ross was a founding member of the American College of Veterinary Nephrology and Urology. She was a board member of the International Renal Interest Society and a faculty member of its Hemodialysis Academy.
In 2022, Dr. Ross returned home to eastern Canada to accept a faculty position at to her alma mater, the Atlantic Veterinary College at the University of Prince Edward Island, where she won the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association Teacher of the Year Award in 2023.
She was loved by colleagues and clients alike and will be greatly missed. Dr. Ross was 54 years old.
