Bear: TPLO Surgery
Bear had pain in his hind legs because of torn cranial cruciate ligaments (CCL). This ligament prevents instability of the knee joint, and is similar to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in humans.
The solution was a total hip replacement using a custom, 3D-printed titanium implant coated with silver to stave off potential infections.
Rupture of the CCL is one of the most common causes for lameness and orthopedic pain in dogs and it negatively affects their quality of life. With surgery, patients like Bear can return to an active lifestyle. The Surgery Center will allow us to help more patients than ever!”
