Where I belong, Where you belong, Where *we* belong.

Cultivating Community for All
As a global leader in the field of Veterinary Health, it is our mission to foster a vibrant and representational community rooted in collaboration, compassion and respect.
This commitment is defined in our Strategic Plan and overseen by the school's Community Council. The council, which is composed of faculty, staff and students was created in 2020 to promote the Principles of Community, improve human welfare, and enhance belonging and engagement. They work year-round with intentionality, accountability and vigilance to promote a positive environment in a variety of ways, including solutions for work-life integration, mental health and wellness activities, and community gathering opportunities.

Land Acknowledgement
We should take a moment to acknowledge the land on which we are gathered. For thousands of years, this land has been the home of Patwin people. Today, there are three federally recognized Patwin tribes: Cachil DeHe Band of Wintun Indians of the Colusa Indian Community, Kletsel Dehe Wintun Nation, and Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation.
The Patwin people have remained committed to the stewardship of this land over many centuries. It has been cherished and protected, as elders have instructed the young through generations. We are honored and grateful to be here today on their traditional lands.
