The school’s leadership and faculty work closely with colleagues in the profession and in a broad range of veterinary medical professional organizations and societies. These partnerships help to promote education initiatives, student recruitment and application processes, species and discipline advancement for improved animal health and related impacts on human and environmental health, continuing education and legislative support for veterinary practice issues, student loans and animal health research.
Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC)
The school is an active member of the AAVMC, an organization dedicated to advancing academic veterinary medicine and coordinating legislative efforts related to teaching and research missions.
American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)
AVMA represents the veterinary medical profession on a national level, supporting all career paths associated with the profession, advancing veterinary practice related issues, promoting student recruitment, overseeing veterinary accreditation reviews and much more. AVMA also publishes the peer reviewed publications: Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association and American Journal of Veterinary Research.
California Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA)
The CVMA represents California veterinarians and advocates within the profession, the community and through legislative advocacy for innovative programs and leadership to improve animal and human health in an ethically and socially responsible manner. CVMA organizes continuing education programs, provides career and employment resources and publishes the monthly California Veterinarian publication.
