UC Davis Alumnus Becomes President of California Veterinary Medical Association

Dr. Keith Rode, UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine Class of 2006, was recently installed as president of the California Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA). CVMA celebrated Dr. Rode and others with an evening ceremony and reception at the Pacific Veterinary Conference, CVMA’s annual meeting.

Dr. Rode has been an active alumnus since graduation, having served on the search committee for the UC Davis veterinary hospital’s chief veterinary medical officer position in 2016, as well as the school’s 2018 Strategic Planning Committee, among other initiatives.

Outside of UC Davis, Dr. Rode has been involved in the veterinary community at the local and state level and has served as president of both the Sacramento Valley Veterinary Medical Association and the California Veterinary Medical Foundation. He is co-owner of the Woodland Veterinary Hospital, where he has spent his entire professional career.

Prior to being elected as CVMA president, Dr. Rode served on the organization’s Board of Governors, representing veterinarians in the greater Sacramento region at the state level. His term as CVMA president is an annual appointment for 2022–23.
