UC Davis Veterinary Medicine Receives Insight Into Academia Magazine’s 2025 Excellence in Mental Health and Well-Being Award

The UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine received the 2025 Excellence in Mental Health and Well-Being Award this week from Insight Into Academia magazine, the largest and oldest diversity and inclusion publication in higher education. This national award recognizes institutions that commit to a campus-wide integration of mental health initiatives, including accessible services, peer support, emotional resilience, and proactive policy. UC Davis is one of only three veterinary schools around the country that will be featured, along with 70 other recipients, in the September 2025 issue of Insight Into Academia magazine.
“This award highlights the focused curricular and extracurricular efforts we’ve implemented to support the learning environment of our scholars as well as to prepare for their move into a demanding profession,” said Dr. Karl Jandrey, associate dean of Admissions and Student Programs. “We’re proud of the programs and initiatives in our UC Davis community that advance our core values of inclusive excellence and belonging. We also have great plans to continue the growth of our wellbeing initiatives for scholars and employees.”
